why is this firm different and does it matter?

The Difference is my wish to take some of the stress out of it.

Over the last 10 years I have worked in this area as an employee of a firm in Richmond NSW. In September 2022 the firm determined to no longer do work in the "personal injury" area, effectively rendering me redundant. So I decided to set up my own practice and took rented space in Richmond town. Many of the clients of the former firm have joined me in this great adventure,

Does this Matter?

The things that add to the stress of engaging a lawyer to take on a former employer, an insurance company or other entity comes down to whether you are happy to repose your trust and often your future into the hands of someone you may not know, often relying upon what others have said about this person. And then there is how much is all this going to cost? Is it worth doing? What if he turns out to be a dud?

So it matters.

I have done it all before

I'm not bragging when I make this statement; it is really the product of the years I have been on this planet. And I have seen it all.

I was admitted to prectise as a solicitor in 1975, so I have been around. My work was then exclusively corporations administration and restructuring.

I was admitted to practise as a Barrister at the Sydney Bar in 1978, where I was briefed in many civil jurisdictions. My work included ratainers with Lawcover and the NRMA domestic arson team.

In 2005 I moved to Fiji where I practised until 2010, when home called.

From 2011 until 2022 I worked as special counsel with Shaddicks Lawyers in Richmond until I was made redundant.
